K.K.Ravichandhiran, (1st June 1964,Tanjavur)
Tanjore painting is a popular art form steeped in tradition and encouraged by maharajas and other nobles for past many hundred years to this day by the government and other active Indian art lovers. Though there are hundreds of thousands disciples all over India of this difficult art, there are very few of them who are ethnically native to Tanjore. One among them is K.K. Ravichanndhiran,a true son of the Tanjavur soil with the Cauvery River flowing through his veins. He is also a genuine disciple of a guru (Kalaimamani Venkatesa Raja) belonging to a lineage of court painters. People living in the banks of Cauvery in the Tanjore are known for their intellectual brilliance and their extraordinary cultural talent. Some of the finest intellectual and cultural blood has been sown in this belt.
Ravichandhiran being a native of this Tanjore was naturally inspired by the many tanjore paintings he admired in his early days and took up this art form seriously. By the time he was 20 he had won laurels and appreciation by his teachers and one and all. The famed Tamil Nadu State Lalit Kala Academy and Poompuhar (state handicrafts development corporation) have recognized his proficiency and given him awards.
He has successfully developed his own style and individuality without disturbing traditional Tanjore art form.He has exhibited his paintings all over India,He is now available for online consultation, promotion of this extraordinary and ancient South Indian craft. His profile and collection of the works follow this introduction.
His works have found permanent exhibitions in the famed Thiruvaiyaru Sri Thyagaraja memorial and Anna arivaalayam and many other places.
